First Day

Levi walked into the Cafeteria, carrying a plastic food tray with his lunch. He had spent the whole morning in the head's office, discussing how he would be expected to behave in the school. It was a load of stuff he had heard before. Because of this long conversation with the head he had lost out a full morning of socialising, the main time to start making friends. Now he had some serious catching up to do. He scanned the Cafeteria for somewhere to sit where he would have a chance to make friends. He still wasn't sure and soon just decided to take a seat and choose who he would talk to after eating. It was better than standing there like an idiot. He picked a small table near the entrance and dumped his bag on the seat next to him, placing his tray on the table. He took a bite out of his apple and looked around the room again.

Jace walked into the cafetria and grabbed himself a light lunch consiting of an apple and a plate of salad. Noticing that most of the tables were full and not really in the mood to talk to anyone, he sat down on the only free table, where one boy was sitting. He looked at the boy and cocked his head to the side, "You're new," he said, a statement rather than a question.

Levi looked up as a boy sat at his table with nothing but an apple and a plate of salad. It almost made him feel like his lunch was huge in comparison. He had an apple, a sandwhich, some crisps and a little cake bar. It wasn't like he needed to watch his weight, in fact it would probably be for the best if he gained a few pounds, but that wasn't going to happen. He nodded at the other boys comment.
"First day." He replied. "Levi." He introduced, holding out his hand.

Jace looked at the hand for a moment, debating whether to shake it or jut ignore it. In the end, he gave up and shook the boy's hand lightly, "Jace," he said. He picked up his fork and began to eat his salad, wishing that it was a nice rabbit instead. He hadn't been hunting for a while and he was missing the freedom of being a wolf or a bear. 'Tonight i'll go,' he thought.

Kaylei shuffled into the cafeteria and picked up a bag of freshy cut fruit. She was on another diet as when her mother came home from her last catwalk visit she had described the beautiful young women with amazingly beautiful skin and hair. Kaylei herself was in proportion yet she always found faults with her legs and stomach. She hated it.

Walking into the glass room she spotted Jace immediatly with some boy she hadn't seen before. Grinning to herself she walked over calmly and sat down next to the shapeshifter. "Long tim no see," she said to Jace as the satisfying rip opened her packet of fruit. She turned to the other boy and smiled, "Hello, I don't believe I've seen you around before. I'm Kaylei, and you? who are you?" she asked politely her thin lips forming a brilliant smile.

Levi raised an eyebrow as the boy hesitated before shaking his hand. When he did he gave a little smile. "Nice to meet you." He said with a grin. Then a girl pulled up a chair. "No, we haven't met." He confirmed. "Name's Levi." He answered. He took another bite out of his apple.
"Does everyone here eat hardly anything?" He asked, indicating to the other two peoples lunches. It was looking that way, he felt like a pig.

"Pleasure to meet you," she grinned popping a slice of apple in her mouth. "I don't know why Jace isn't eating. But my mother is a model, she's a bit insane about eating. I have to watch callories like there's no tomorrow," she explained. After a few moments she turned back to the new boy and smiled again, "So, Hero or Sidekick?" she asked, hoping he was a Hero...not that sidekicks weren't facinating...

Levi nodded, he understood what she ment about stuff to do with models, a couple of girls at his old school had been anorexically skinny because of the models on the runways, and even then they were unhappy. He looked at the girl in front of him. She was very pretty, not anorexically skinny, that wasn't attractive, But very slim none the less.
"I think, if you watch your callories too much, you'll dissapear, he joked. He knew too well that he was very skinny, almost unhealthy looking, but he had a funky metablism, he ate a hell of a lot and didn't put on much weight. He used to annoy people by threatening to go on a diet, it was rather funny.

"Uhhh...." He was still getting to grips with the hero/sidekick senario at this school, he hadn't been to one like it. "Hero.... I think..." He said slowly. He wasn't really sure but he thought it was hero. He wasn't much of a follower so he doubted that he would have been put down for sidekick.
"You?

Josh had been running late, as usual. He had to get a ride back home for his books and by the time he had gotten done with Tourk's discipline he had been in time for lunch. He pulled the black wooden box from his backpack and looked around for familiar faces. He didn't see Alex but he did see Kaylei. He walked over and took a seat next to her. "Hey, hows the power working?" he asked in a friendly tone. He looked over and saw two other people he didn't know. "I'm Josh." he said to the two boys. He place the black wooden box on the table in front of him and took out a pair of chopsticks from a side compartment. He opened the box and selected a piece of sushi.

Morgan had made her way into the cafeteria and got her almost pitiful lunch out of her bag. It wasn't that she didn't have the money to get lunch at school her aunt had made her take her lunch for the first day incase she hated the food. It was only a turkey sandwich and some chips but still she felt as if it was pathetic and such. She looked around for a place to sit finding a group of people and recognizing the girl Kaylei from eariler in the library, she headed over to the table, "Hi." she said smiling, "Mind if I join you guys?" she asked biting her lower lip.

"I'm a hero too!" Kaylei exclaimed as if they had been darting around the subject and only just realised they were the same. She chuckled lightly and popped a grape in her mouth, "So what powers do you have?" she asked just as someone sat next to her.

"Hey Josh, it's going okay. I'm not glitchy anymore. Look," Quickly she ran over to the cafeteria line and brought back a knife. Sitting back down she drew it over her arm causing the skin to rip, but the moment she lifted the knife the wound was healed. "I'm untouchable," she laughed 'pimping' her collar.

Moments later Morgan - a girl she had met in the library walked over with her lunch. "Not at all, here, this is Levi, Jace and Josh. Everyone, this is Morgan. We're like, BFFL..FESD...or something," she said smiling up at the other girl and moving over a little to allow her to sit down. Turning back to Levi she smiled again, "So how are you liking school?"

Jace smirked at Levi's comment and shrugged his shoulders, "I just don't like eating very much," he said, picking up some salad with his fork and placing it in his mouth. He turned to look at Kaylei and smirked, "Well hello hello, Ms Wright," he said, bowing his head to her slightly before rolling his eyes.

He looked up as the other two people joined them and bit back a sigh, 'So much for a quiet lunch,' he thought, grimacing in the slightest. He was glad to hear that Levi was a Hero like himself and Kaylei. Not that he had anything against sidekicks but heroes were more...entertaining.

Levi smiled as Kaylie said she was a hero too, she was obviously very proud of it. He still didn't quite get the gist of it, but it was clearly important to some people here. "Um... Elemental Magic?" He said, still unsure if that was what she was asking. "You?" He asked in return. His eyes widened in horrified shock as she slit her arm open.
"I haven't really been at school long enough to know what i think."

He looked at the other two people who joined him at the table. Well at least he wasn't spending lunch alone.

"Darlin, I'm glad its working but can we not self mutilate at the lunch table." Delk said with a laugh. "So are you using the trick I gave you?" He looked at Jace as the boy grimaced "Jace as in the one Alex talked about?" he said with a faint smile. His reputation preceded him. "Well Alex did forget to mention how cute you were." he said with a laugh. He looked over at Levi. "Hero ay?" he asked in a playful tone. This guy was cuter then Jace. So much potential for this school. "We all are heroes at the table then." After this he fell silent and started eating his sushi and rice balls.

Levi looked at Josh as he spoke to him. at least he was having a decent sized lunch. Sushi, always a good meal. He gave him a quick smile. "I guess we all are." He agreed, nodding. He took in the fact that everyone at the table was extremely good looking. This school obviously had a very good selection, of both male and female. He couldn't contain a little grin that danced over his lips.

He nodded at Josh's meal.
"At least you're eating like a normal person." He said with a smile.

"Oh, this is just a snack." he said with a grin as he offered Levi a piece. "I ate before I left my house. I just got to school a few minutes before the bell for lunch. These guys seem to be obsessed with eating as little as possible. I on the other hand, have to maintain my stamina for my lessons at home." he smiled at Levi. He is cute. So whats a few pieces of sushi for a cutie? He thought to himself.

Levi laughed. He understood completely. "Same, I would rather have a nice big fatty burger than some skimpy little salad." He said laughing. He smiled, and took a piece of sushi. "Thanks." He said with a nod of gratification. He tilted his head to the side, his pale eyes meeting the other boy's. "So, what lessons do you have at home?" He asked, intrueged. He didn't know that some people took out of school classes.

"Mostly just my Martial arts. My adoptive father is a Shoulin Monk." He said with a bit of dismay in his voice. "But he also helps me with my pyrokinesis as much as possible. Not a problem I have two more boxes in the bag." he said with a laugh. "I hear you on the burger. Actualy that sounds rely good right now." he smiled at Levi with all the charm of a prince. "So what brought you to sky high?"

He smiled as Josh said that the burger sounded good. It really did. He almost felt like he could smell the hot beef. He shook the thought off as he took a bite ouut of his sandwich. He shrugged and swallowed his mouthful. "I just moved to the town and the Home sent me to a family who thought this would be a good idea for me." He said, sounding a little bitter. It wasn't the school that made him bitter, it was just the school, It was just the fact that he had literally been dumped onto the family, who didn't really want him either it seemed. He was getting happier about it every moment he was in the school.

"I know the feeling." he said with a thoughtful look. "If you ever need anyone to talk to you can come by my place anytime you want." he said with a smile. "Tourk is almost never home. I pretty much have the entire apartment to my self." he scribbled the address on a napkin and handed it to Levi, letting his hand brush the other boy's lightly.

Levi smiled back at Josh as he said that he could pop by his place any time he wanted. It seemed he had already managed to make a friend. He took the napkin, smiling as he felt their skin brush gently past each other. "I'll probably take you up on that offer sooner than you think." He said, holding up the napkin as an idication of the offer he was refering to. "I'm sure those idiots I'm living with will be happy to have me out of the house. It seems they really like their furnature the way it is, and would rather they stay that way." He joked. He had been messing around with his magics at the house, controling a ball of fire, and the sofa turned out to be extremely flamable.

"Trust me," Josh said with a wink, "You will be nothing but welcome to come and stay with us if you want. Tourk thinks I should make friends since we are in the states now. I grew up in Japan, in the Shoulin Temple. I'm not rely good at making friends. But come by when ever you want. If you want to stay the night at any point go for it. We have free reign of the house." He smiled again. "And don't worry about the furnishings. I catch mine on fire all the time." he said with a wink.

levi smiled as well. "thanks, it's great to know." He said. The invitation made him feel good, and he like the idea of having free reign of a house with this boy, the more levi looked at him, the cuter he got. As Josh said that he set the fire to the furnature he laughed
"Well that's a relief I'll tell you." He laughed, nudging him in the shoulder with his fist.

Josh smiled at the casual contact. The boy was rely good looking. And not to mention seemed to be flirting back. Granted it wouldn't have stopped him even if the boy looked at him and said he was straight. Josh went for what he wanted. "So orphan or given up?" he asked with his usual lack of personal tact when it came to other people's lives. "I was left on the steps of the Temple."

He shrugged. At least this guy wasn't one of the people that felt like as soon as someone was in care that wasn't part of their family they are going to be all emotional when it comes to talking about it. To be honest he didn't care that he was in care, he just didn't like the carers. He didn't mind discussing his family, it wasn't like he was emotionally attached to his parents. They had given them away. They didn't want him, so why should he be effected by talking about it.
"Given up. They felt that i was too much of a handful and they couldn't afford to keep me with a baby coming." He said with a shrug. He tilted his head to the side.
"Left on the steps? That's gotta suck. At least my parents had the guts to tell me they didn't want me."
