Dusky Dreams [Sephy & Jace]

Jace shrugged lightly, "All in a day's work," he said, chuckling. He ran his thumb back and forth over her palm. He rested his head on top of her's, still staring out across the park. It was a nice evening, despite the cold wind. The kind of evening that set his adrenaline pumping, an evening where he liked to hunt.

"Seriously, I owe you one," she said, still smiling. She was safe with Jace, she was sure of that, even if she didn't know him and hadn't seen him around school and didn't know what his power was - if he had a power. "What would you like me to do in return?" she asked, her voice sounding unintentionally suggestive and seductive. She had meant it just to sound normal, but she hadn't even noticed the change in her tone.

Jace lifted his head, smirking at the change in her tone. It seemed unintentional but he hadn't missed it. He turned her face gently so that she was looking at him. "Can i kiss you?" he asked, looking into her eyes. He wore a friendly face, one that wouldn't frighten her. Normally he wouldn't ask but this seemed to call for a special carefulness.

"I guess so," she breathed, blushing. Totally flattered by what he had asked, she blinked once or twice, but couldn't pull her eyes away from his. She felt oddly like a mouse caught by a cobra, or a rabbit staring into a wolf's jaws, but it didn't frighten her. She wanted to be caught by the predator. She was going to say something else, but somehow she'd got closer to Jace - or he'd got closer to her - without either of them moving and now, now all she could do was close her eyes and let her slightly parted lips receive his.

Jace smiled and leant forwards, gently pressing his lips to hers. He kissed her slowly and carefully, letting her get used to the feel of their lips together. This kissing was different to the kind he normally used, but that didn't matter. He moved his hand to cup her face and parted her lips with his, gently sliding his tongue into her mouth. If she resisted he would pull away but so far she seemed to not mind.

She responded to his kiss timidly, never quite being sure what she ought to do next - with anyone. But this was amazing. She felt wonderful; he was making her feel how she wanted Destin to make her feel, but never quite got the chance to - like a woman. Jace was strong and he would keep her safe - he was a man for her. She rested her hand lightly on his neck, the fingertips touching his hair, and continued to kiss him, astounded by how gentle he was being and yet how fantastic it felt at the same time.

Jace deepened the kiss, still trying to stay as gentle as possible. It was clear that Sephy was shy when it came to things like this, but he could bend to that. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him, hoping that the movement wouldn't frighten her away.

She moved as prompted by his arms and hands, and somehow found herself sitting on his lap, still kissing him, with her legs either side of his. She would have pulled back and apologised, but his kiss was so magical that she didn't want the sensation to end - ever. She still felt dizzy and spaced out, but was now convinced that was because of how wonderful this moment was, forgetting that she had felt just the same before they'd kissed. She felt as though she would do anything he asked at that precise moment; anything...

Jace, urged on by her movements, ran his hands up her back, lifting her shirt up with it. It was late at night and they were in a pretty secluded part of the forest, so it wasn't as if anyone would see. He broke the kiss just for a moment, "Do you want to continue?" he asked, in a low, seductive voice, slightly husky from the kissing. He wasn't going to force this on her, even if he was evil, he wasn't quite that bad.

She knew what he meant by 'continue' - well, she thought she did, anyway. She swallowed hard and looked around, suddenly coming to her senses because of the cold on the bare parts of her back where Jace had lifted her shirt a little. What had made her say yes? Even though there was nothing between her and Destin, she still felt like she was betraying him, whatever that meant. But...but Destin wanted Alex, not her, even after their fight, so would it make much difference either way? She didn't know what to say - she wanted to know now what kind of man Jace was - so she made a move that seemed like she was shifting closer to him yet away from his hands on her back, and seemed to nod and shake her head at the same time, giving him no definite answer, trying to see what he would do, given the choice of being nice or getting what he wanted.

Jace cocked his head to the side, confused by her mixture of answers. "Is that a yes or a no?" he asked, chuckling gently. He brushed her hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. He looked into her eyes and smiled before placing a quick kiss on her lips. He removed his hands from under her shirt, placing them on her shoulders instead. He wouldn't force her, even if he did want her badly.

"No, I'm sorry, I... I can't," she said quietly, shaking her head and standing up, walking away a few paces. She shivered slightly - it had got a little cold now - and ran a hand through her hair. What had she just almost done? She felt so...unclean, as if she wasn't worthy of anybody right now, least of all Destin. Because she had to be constant, didn't she? So that if he stopped chasing Alex, he would see that she'd been there all along, right? Yes. "I'm sort of seeing someone," she lied, not wanting to explain the whole pathetic thing.

Jace's face fell but he lifted it again when she turned around. "Oh ok, no worries." He smiled and stood up, "I wasn't going to force you to do anything," he said, catching her hand before she walked away. "I'm not that sort of person," he said, stroking his thumb across her hand.
